About The Crossing Theatre
The Crossing Theatre is Narrabri Shire Council’s multi-purpose entertainment venue, with two cinemas, the Crossing Café and four event spaces, all fully licensed. It operates seven days a week, so as a Front of House Attendant you’ll work across the café, candy bar, box office and events, serving everyone from movie-goers and café diners to function guests. You’ll be part of a close team at one of Narrabri’s most popular community venues.
About the Job
Look after guests across the café, candy bar, box office and events at The Crossing Theatre. Deliver outstanding service, keep things running smoothly and help us exceed expectations every shift.
Your duties will include:
- Greeting and seating café guests, taking orders, preparing drinks and delivering meals
- Making menu recommendations and suggesting extras
- Selling tickets, serving ready-to-eat food and recommending movies at the candy bar and box office
- Using the point-of-sale system and handling cash in line with Council policy
- Answering phone and counter enquiries, and responding to feedback and complaints
- Starting the cinema projectors and troubleshooting basic errors
- Keeping the venue clean, well maintained and presented to a high standard
- Minimising wastage and building relationships that keep customers coming back
- Sharing ideas to improve the guest experience
- Following Food Safety, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Movie Classification requirements

About You
You’re friendly, dependable and happy to be busy. You’ll bring:
- Reliability and punctuality
- Customer service experience, including working with the public and in a team
- Well-developed verbal communication skills
- Mathematical ability and/or knowledge of point-of-sale systems
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills and the initiative to act on them
- Sound keyboard and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to become proficient in Council’s software programs
- Availability for weekday and weekend shifts, including day, afternoon, evening and night work
Hospitality qualifications and Local Government experience are desirable.
You’ll need to be able to obtain and uphold a current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance and current Food Handlers training.
