ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Governance & Risk Support Officer you will provide essential administrative and specialist support to ensure the effective delivery of Council’s Corporate Governance and Risk services. Your role will involve facilitating communication and fostering collaboration across the organisation, all while contributing to the ethical and transparent decision-making processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the processing and collation of Government Information Public Access (GIPA) requests;
  • Coordinating Council's Internal Audit Program, acting as a liaison between Council and external contractors;
  • Assist in the management of Council’s Designated Persons register, Gifts and Benefits register and associated process;
  • Assist with the development, implementation and review of Council’s Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R) function and Council’s Service Review and Internal Audit program; and
  • Assist in the coordination of the Council Meeting process by undertaking the preparation of meeting notices, documents and reports, recording and compiling minutes and action sheets, distributing meeting papers, running PowerPoint presentations and uploading documentation and minutes to Council’s website.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who is eager to make a difference in the community through effective governance and risk management. You will have the ability to build effective internal and external relationships with maintaining a high-level of confidentiality, privacy provisions and customer service. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or related education and/or relevant experience. 
  • The ability to draft detailed correspondence; with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise work within an environment of fluctuating workloads and changing priorities.
  • The proven ability to build effective relationships to achieve results.
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
