About the Role

This role involves coordinating the operations of our aquatic facilities in Narrabri, Boggabri and Wee Waa, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all patrons. If you are passionate about aquatics, community well-being, and leadership, we invite you to dive into this exciting opportunity with us. As the Aquatic Operations Coordinator you will:

  • Provide support, guidance and mentoring to permanent and casual staff in the performance of their duties to allow continuous improvement of relevant skills.
  • Maintain an understanding of RLSS Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO), NSW Health guidelines, Practice Note 15, and other relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Contribute to relevant strategic, management, business and marketing planning as required.
  • Develop and regularly review Safe Work Method Statements and Work Process Guidelines relevant to operations.
  • Implement Council's adopted Aquatic Facilities Management Plan. 
  • Assist the Manager Entertainment Leisure Services to plan, monitor control and review revenue, operational and capital project expense budgets. 
  • Oversee development of staff rosters to provide a safe environment and deliver services and programs in Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.
  • Monitor and maintain all swimming pool plant and equipment to maximise plant life, efficiency and reduce downtime.

About You

If you are ready to embark on a fulfilling journey as the Aquatic Operations Coordinator, where you can make a difference within the community and be part of a dynamic team, we encourage you to explore this exciting opportunity with us.  If you are successful in securing this role, you will hold or be able to obtain, the following licenses/accreditations prior to commencing employment:

  • Certificate IV in Aquatics (Pool Operations) and relevant demonstrated experience in the application of this knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing and supervising a diverse team to deliver programs and services consistently, efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a risk management approach to provide a safe environment for people using public swimming pools for leisure, recreation, fitness, learn to swim or rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing partnerships through community and client consultation.
  • Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00111). 
  • Current Working with Children Check.
