About the Role

As a Work Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our safety culture. You will provide administrative and specialist support to deliver Council’s Work Health and Safety Program effectively. Your ability to communicate and collaborate will drive positive changes and ensure compliance with WHS legislation. 

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of assigned projects for the development of WHS Management programs and perform peer reviews on draft documents.
  • Fulfil the role of Council’s Return to Work Coordinator by implementing an effective Recover at Work Program that is regularly reviewed in consultation with workers.
  • Undertake regular inspection of Council worksites, and safety interactions with workers.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular reports for Senior Management, relevant committees and the governing body on WHS activities and KPIs.

About You

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about safety, committed to making a meaningful impact and has the capability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and/or relevant experience, or the ability to obtain that training.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Return to Work Coordinator qualification or the ability to obtain that training.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence others to achieve results.
