About the Role

As a Chef at The Crossing Theatre, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary flair by creating and delivering fresh, innovative, and nutritious food. This is your chance to let your creativity shine — developing dishes that delight our community and reflect the latest food trends. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Supporting the daily operations of The Crossing Theatre kitchen. 
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality, consistent meals. 
  • Adhering to all Food Safety legislations and Health and Safety regulations. 
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. 
  • Assisting in implementing strategies to reduce costs and minimise food waste.

About You

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Chef or Cook with strong organisational and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment with varying workloads and priorities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, and will enjoy working both collaboratively within a team and independently when required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Hold an Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices. 
  • Have the availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends. 
  • Have exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
