About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a motivated individual with exceptional skills join the Regulatory Compliance team. As our Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in enforcing local and environmental laws that keep our community safe and our environment protected. Your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating complaints and inquiries from the community regarding public health, environmental protection, and public safety.
- Monitoring compliance with various statutory regulations, including the Local Government Act, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, and the Protection of the Environment Operations Act.
- Preparing and issuing notices and orders to enforce laws and regulations effectively.
- Managing and responding to incidents of environmental damage, pollution, and public health concerns.
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping for compliance and enforcement activities.
- Representing the Council in legal and regulatory forums as required

About You
As our Compliance Officer, you will be an articulate, communicator who can engage with, and understand requirements of the community. You will be able to work independently and as a part of a small team, while possessing a:
- Strong knowledge of and experience with public health, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- A high-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence and General Construction Induction Card.
