About the Role
As an Assistant Planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and professional delivery of our statutory planning functions. You will work closely with the Planning and Development section to monitor processes, develop systems, and maintain compliance with relevant legislation.
In this role, you will establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will lead by example, exceeding customers' expectations and driving a customer-centric culture. Your ability to research and draft technical planning reports will be utilised to support development-related activities in our Local Government Area.

About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Diploma qualification in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or similar field, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in statutory development assessment in a Local Government environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with operating the NSW Planning Portal
- Demonstrated experience determining high volumes of development applications to meet statutory and customer service timeframes
- Strong understanding and application of relevant statutory legislation
You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently is essential.
