An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join Council’s Planning and Development team in the role of Development Systems Officer. The role of the Development Systems Officer is to develop and maintain Council's planning systems to support and improve the delivery of development services in a timely and professional manner, with customer satisfaction being paramount in the process.

About the Role

As our Development Systems Officer, some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be: 

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Council Planning Application modules and integration with NSW Planning Portal. 
  • Provide efficient and effective support to all technical planning staff and wider Council users.
  • Maintain and audit planning data and structures within the system for accuracy in alignment with Council policies and legislative requirements.
  •  Assist to develop procedures, reports and user dashboards which enable efficiencies in process management. 
  • Assist in the preparation of departmental reports and ensure integrity of data entry.
  • Ensure Councils planning applications module is utilised effectively to enhance the organisations continuous improvement.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • A high level of written and oral communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Experience in systems management with the ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesise information from a wide variety of sources.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. 
  • The ability to work as part of a team, and also independently, to achieve set goals. 
  • Critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques.
