About the Role:

As a Customer Service Assistant, this position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about customer service, excel in problem-solving, and are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our community. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing professional, customer service, including front counter interactions, call centre operations, and telephone manner
  • Assisting with daily Council inbox requests, capturing and responding to requests, and distributing them to relevant Council officers
  • Assisting with daily mail duties
  • Providing timely and accurate information, both verbally and in writing, in accordance with legislation, Council Policy, protocol, and procedures
  • Exercising appropriate discretion, and sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality as required
  • Taking ownership of customer matters and issues and ensuring follow-up through to resolution

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent intrapersonal and communication skills that has a friendly nature and a keen eye for accuracy in administrative tasks, order processing and cash handling. If you are a people person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you! The ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience in a customer service/administration-based role
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships, both internal and external
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Developed organisational skills with the capacity to prioritize
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

You will also demonstrate a commitment to our Council's values and contribute to our family-friendly, cohesive, and progressive culture.
