An opportunity exists for a dynamic and highly skilled Community Events Officer to join Narrabri Shire Council. 

About the Role: 

As a Community Events Officer, you will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of community events that promote engagement and strengthen relationships within our community. This position encourages you to use your creativity, your fun loving attitude, organisational skills and your ability to connect with others to plan and deliver an awesome array of community events. The responsibilities include: 

  • Coordinate a variety of community and civil events and projects
  • Plan, organise and budget civil, small and large events
  • Liaise with local businesses and community groups 
  • Oversee site management requirements for all performances and events
  • Manage community event applications and approvals
  • Ability to meet and handle statutory requirements and deadlines
  • Participate in an on-call roster, weekend work, reasonable overtime and disaster and emergency situations when required.

About You:

The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibits outstanding skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving and task prioritisation. The ideal candidate also has:

  • High level administrative skills.
  • Able to deliver clear communication
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Able to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in event software and other relevant technology tools
  • High level of attention to detail
