About the Role

As our GIS Officer, some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be: 

  • Undertake data management functions that ensure that Council’s spatial datasets, in particular land and property, asset and environmental are accurate and can be used with confidence to support business decision making.
  • Produce spatial products including maps, map layers, visualisations and other representations that are meaningful and useful to the business to support decision making.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends and issues arising in the spatial sector to ensure Council’s system is comparable with current best practice, given the available resources.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Have sound working knowledge and recent experience within GIS, property and assets management.
  • Have experience with Geographic Information Systems and programs
  • Hold qualifications relevant to this position
  • Have demonstrated familiarity and compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Design Guidelines and Codes of Practice relevant to NSW Local Government
  • Significant demonstrated experience in interacting with multi-disciplinary teams, effective management and influence of employees not under your direct supervision and promoting team work across an organisation.
