About the Role

As a Customer Service Assistant, your role entails delivering high-quality customer service while offering excellent administrative support the the organisation. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional, customer service, including front counter interactions, call centre operations, and telephone manner
  • Assisting with daily Council inbox requests, capturing and responding to requests, and distributing them to relevant Council officers
  • Assisting with daily mail duties
  • Providing timely and accurate information, both verbally and in writing, in accordance with legislation, Council Policy, protocol, and procedures
  • Exercising appropriate discretion, and sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality as required
  • Using organisation-wide systems, protocols, and processes to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective customer service
  • Taking ownership of customer matters and issues and ensuring follow-up through to resolution
  • Undertaking basic administrative tasks

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience in a customer service/administration-based role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships, both internal and external
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Developed organisational skills with the capacity to prioritize
  • A keen eye for accuracy in cash handling, order processing, and administrative tasks

You will also demonstrate a commitment to our Council's values and contribute to our family-friendly, cohesive, and progressive culture.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is $59,800 - $66,200 plus Superannuation. In addition, we offer flexible work arrangements, a Council uniform, ongoing professional development and training, and opportunities for career and salary progression.
