An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join Council’s Planning and Development team in the role of Development Systems Officer. The role of the Development Systems Officer is to support and improve the delivery of development services in a timely and professional manner, with customer satisfaction being paramount in the process.

About the Role

As our Development Systems Officer, some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be: 

  • Carrying out robust development application pre-lodgement reviews within the NSW Planning Portal.
  • Producing legal certificates and other documentation in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements.
  • Truly understanding what your customer wants and continually driving to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • The production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Council and external agencies.
  • Providing responsive, discretionary, and compassionate advice on all building and planning matters to applicants, objectors, and internal and external customers.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will be:

  • An effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office suite, namely Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team, fostering an environment based on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Qualified in a relevant field or have some planning industry experience.
  • Equipped with critical thinking skills.
